The Los Angeles Lakers got one of their biggest wins of the 2017-18 NBA season with their 93-81 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. A big reason for their three-game winning streak has been the dynamic play of small forward Brandon Ingram.
Ingram has been on fire as of late and Wednesday night versus the Spurs was no different. According to Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints, rookie point guard Lonzo Ball even admitted that the offense essentially runs around him:
“He pretty much is the offense. We give him the ball and get out of the way and we know that it is going to be a bucket. He scores pretty easily and that is his game.”
Needless to say, it has been for good reason. Ingram’s efficiency has been off the charts lately after registering 26 points on 11 of 21 shooting against the Spurs.
Ball was certainly no slouch either, recording 18 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists in the win over San Antonio. At this point, it is safe to assume he has found his stroke after making four of his seven three-point attempts.
However, it is clear that Ingram will be heavily relied upon for the scoring duties moving forward. Meanwhile, Ball will continue to operate as the team’s playmaker after his passing prowess was greatly missed during his absence.
