It has been a rough 2017-2018 NBA season for the Los Angeles Lakers as they currently sit with an 11-25 record, good for last in the Western Conference. Their recent stretch of games included playoff-caliber teams and it was clear that Los Angeles has a long way to go before they can consider themselves one of the better teams in the league.
While the young Lakers have struggled, most of the attention on the team is about their offseason plan to lure free agents. One popular name that has been linked with the purple and gold is Oklahoma City Thunder forward and Los Angeles native Paul George.
Ahead of their matchup, George had words of praise for Lonzo Ball according to Shahan Ahmed of NBC Los Angeles:
Paul George on Lonzo Ball: "As far as being a basketball player, at his age, he's one of the best basketball players that has played this game. He has a knack to play the game the right way."

George recently told media that he did not regret letting the public know that Los Angeles was one of his preferred trade destinations when he was still a member of the Indiana Pacers, so his comment about Ball will be sure to raise eyebrows. The young point guard has seemingly impressed around the league given his passing ability and team-first mentality.
Still, fans should temper their expectations about George coming to the Lakers given their current struggles on the court. The storied franchise might be best served focusing on developing its young talent as opposed to star chasing.
