The Los Angeles Rams have wasted little time this offseason making moves to acquire additional proven talent to help push their momentum forward in the 2018 NFL season. This has come with a bit of a cost as the team has had to part ways with a few high draft picks in the process.

This has left the front office without any selections in the first two rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft. With that in mind, head coach Sean McVay has voiced that he isn’t concerned about that being the situation, according to Cameron DaSilva of Rams Wire:

The first selection that the Rams do possess is the 87th overall pick in the third round while also holding a trio of fourth-round selections and four sixth-round picks. This still provides the Rams will the opportunity to move up in the middle of the draft if they desire to do so. If not, the team has a chance to add eight players to the mix.

The Rams may not be adding premium talent through the draft, the opportunity to add major impact players in All-Pro cornerbacks Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib along with wide receiver Brandin Cooks was simply too much to pass up. On top of that, the front office has shown the ability to add solid players in the middle of the draft. It is a bullet that the Rams had to bite in order to acquire proven talent, but it’s clearly one that they are willing to pay the price through the draft.
